Pulsar Service at KGP

Wow! First weekend of second sem. at IIT KGP. Sluggish start of the classes provided enough time to go for the service of  my bike. Its 150cc Bajaj Pulsar 2006 model(I called her Red Dragon). It crossed the mark of 26500 Kilometers. Not much as per the standard nonetheless it has been a wonderful experience of RedDragon riding. It is the first service after I landed up in Indian Institute of technology, Kharagpur for persuing my M.Tech in Thermal science and engineering at the Department of mechanical engineering. Delayed service never happened in past. I used to go for service periodically. Not being serviced in time, various problems have cropped in. The agility, like human body, has taken a toll on the smooth running of the RedDragon.

Several problems have been reported by me. But more than that the service station guy has sown interest in bringing out problems. Some are just unwarranted. They wants to make money by changing the good parts also. I have been the victims of this several time. Since I want her to be in good condition, I could hardly resist. 

This time , to minimise the expenses, I told only to change the engine oil, lubricate the chain and adjust the brake. The estimated cost was Rs.520 only. I think they were not happy with their earning from me. So the service supervisor came up with additional problem of change of clutch cable and air filter. He asked and I could not resist. Although I think the change of clutch cable is not necessary. Change of air filter is a good idea. With that service cost will definitely cross Rs.600. I expected that it will be less than Rs.500. But in such places the cost will always inflate. 

It is Amit Bajaj Service in Kharagpur. First time I heard this from Tusar, I smiled  softly. It took a bit more than expected time to reach here. I came on just verbal instruction from Tusar. Most importantly I reach well in time to be third in the queue. Hopefully I'll get it by 1130 Hrs and She (RedDragon) runs for next six month with little maintenance.

Her Second Tooth

Today at 1330Hrs , her second tooth fell. The tooth was shaking even before the first tooth fell bit was stubborn. The new tooth was growing beneath and since this tooth didnot fall at appropriate time, it new tooth got dislocated. However I hope that the new tooth takes its rightfull place and do not enchroah into other place. This summer before she goes to new school, She has been given a new hair style, courtesy to her  mother. She is looking astonishing beautiful.

an evening at Kodanad

K odanad! Located just 30 km from Ernakulam Town is a border area village of one of the Jungle in Kerala. It is situated at the bank of Periyar river. Kodanad is a baby elephant training center. They are those elephants which are lost in the jungle away from the herds. They have been taken care of here by feeding and making them learn the social rules of human. We were lucky to see three baby elephants. Sometimes you may not find anything in the shelter. But the real place of enjoyment was the bank of the river. the water was so clean and mudless that you can see through it. Even a point and shoot camera can capture the rocks and planks at the bank. The view of the other side of the river was much better. Jungle covering the full hills contrary to the hills in Manali and other hill stations in North India.
