an evening at Kodanad

Kodanad! Located just 30 km from Ernakulam Town is a border area village of one of the Jungle in Kerala. It is situated at the bank of Periyar river. Kodanad is a baby elephant training center. They are those elephants which are lost in the jungle away from the herds. They have been taken care of here by feeding and making them learn the social rules of human.
We were lucky to see three baby elephants. Sometimes you may not find anything in the shelter. But the real place of enjoyment was the bank of the river. the water was so clean and mudless that you can see through it. Even a point and shoot camera can capture the rocks and planks at the bank.

The view of the other side of the river was much better. Jungle covering the full hills contrary to the hills in Manali and other hill stations in North India. Other bank of the river is a perfect place to have fun. But ! there was no boating available at that time. May be due to rocky base of the river and less water flow.

Around the place, there is a resort(not so famous), children park and mini Zoo where you can see only deers. We spent around 1 hr. enjoying the beauty of nature or say taking pictures to prove that we were there for fun. Anyway we spent the maximum time as we could.

So the end this trip of an evening for sweet memory, we had Icecreams of different variety and said goodbye.
