Democracy: a lot to learn from the Past Republic

Dont forget the Past, preserve it, experience it and use it to makehuman future course of life or society per se for better place to live. 

The society and its reinforcer-Political system are two very important units of the a normal human being life. Human get effected with the policies made by the politician for betterment  or upliftment of the people of the society as a whole. Some indivial may get affected in the other way, which can not be denied. However, in an ideal political system, politicians are suppose to be interested in social service instead of the self service we know that they do. Being aware of the maladies of present condition of the democratic system which has not been envisaged in the initial stages after independence. There are several safeguard built into the Contitution itself but it is evident that those are not adequate, insufficient and sometime ineffective in the due course of changing political scenarios and thinking because of the vested interests we come to know slowly fairly or unfairly. Needless to say naything about our politicians and how they operate. 

Now coming to the point of this blog-We the people are given right to chose our representative by using our adult franchies every five year or so. This is offcourse a democracy where common people indirectly participate in making policies considering that our elected representative will be doing our job with utmost neutrality and responsibly. But are they really doing the job they have been elected for? Majority will agree they dont.So  shall we have to wait to throw them out? Yes ! in present condition we cant do anything but wait like a beggar to be blessed after five years to not elect the same person. This is waht is the normal procedure if the majority of the people of the constituency share the same feeling. BUT, now look at the direct democracy which existed in ATHENS during the 5th Century BCE. There was safeguard  given to the voting citizens against notorious & irresponsible of member holding an important position in the system. They called it NEGATIVE voting. Meaning there was a voting system to in-elected or more precisely de-select an official by people vote. They fixed that an official gettig a vote of less than 6000 will be given EXILE from the country for 10 years without any criminal chrages and He will be free to return to Athens after completing the term of 10 years. His properties will not be touched and after coming to athens he can start was he was doing. This discountinuties had various adbvantages. It restricted any rich and powerful person to dominate certain processingd in favour of certain class or holding a powerful position to misuse it in future. But sometimes, this has been abused by a group of nefarious person to send some one good into exile. Nevertheless the system was robust, time tested and effective. This is high time, Why can't  it be implemented in our system?

Her Second Tooth

Today at 1330Hrs , her second tooth fell. The tooth was shaking even before the first tooth fell bit was stubborn. The new tooth was growing beneath and since this tooth didnot fall at appropriate time, it new tooth got dislocated. However I hope that the new tooth takes its rightfull place and do not enchroah into other place. This summer before she goes to new school, She has been given a new hair style, courtesy to her  mother. She is looking astonishing beautiful.

an evening at Kodanad

K odanad! Located just 30 km from Ernakulam Town is a border area village of one of the Jungle in Kerala. It is situated at the bank of Periyar river. Kodanad is a baby elephant training center. They are those elephants which are lost in the jungle away from the herds. They have been taken care of here by feeding and making them learn the social rules of human. We were lucky to see three baby elephants. Sometimes you may not find anything in the shelter. But the real place of enjoyment was the bank of the river. the water was so clean and mudless that you can see through it. Even a point and shoot camera can capture the rocks and planks at the bank. The view of the other side of the river was much better. Jungle covering the full hills contrary to the hills in Manali and other hill stations in North India.
